For being able to take a nap in the middle in the night and still have total control of your child, one could use baby monitor devices that cope with smartphones and tablets. Or you could keep an eye on the baby and the nanny from work. We provided a comparison between three gadgets that are compatible with Apple devices: BabyPing, Withings and iZon.

BabyPing is an appealing monitor with a mixture of molded plastic stars and clouds for fitting in the atmosphere of the baby’s room. It’s worth being mentioned because the camera is surrounded by a crop of LEDs and the face coming two holes (microphone and light sensing). It features vibration alerts, audio streams, night vision, Wi-Fi connectivity and even a passlock.

BabyPing is not available for Android devices so only Apple users can take a look out after their children with such a gadget. It also comes with an USB extension cable for having the possibility of keeping the iPhone juices even when monitoring. It’s available for  $249.

iPhone clients could also experience the world of baby-sitting because Withings came with Smart Baby Monitor that tracks down your baby, even when you are at the office minding your business. It even allows interaction with the baby right from the iPhone, like talking to him or singing a lullaby. Withings describes it as “high resolution video and crystal-clear sound”.

Firstly introduced at CES 2012, Withings is the most expensive from the three devices. It can be positioned everywhere, even mounted on the baby’s bed. What’s special about it is that it comes with a temperature and humidity measurement. It also has a night vision mode. Thanks to the Bluetooth connectivity you can make it work in a blink of an eye, not needing to adapt it to the WiFi network. One could take their hands on the gadget for  $299.

Last but not least, iZon comes with a magnetic base that allows being positioned in quite an impressive variety of angles (from 45 and 90 degrees). It provides video recording for later taking a glance at all the events that happened when you were away and didn’t get the chance of monitoring your child. Also, the image quality is quite good. From the rest of the baby monitoring devices, this one does not offer the night mode so it could be a big disadvantage.

Just like Withings, you simply log to your iZon account and watch your stream from work and from any other place. It’s available for $129.95.
